VACANCY – CLERK TO CALDBECK PARISH COUNCIL

The position of Clerk to Caldbeck Parish Council will become vacant from 1st October 2021, as the present Parish Clerk, Simon Smith, is moving on. To provide continuity, the Parish Council would like to appoint his successor before then. 

The Parish Council seeks a confident person with an interest in the local community. The contract is for 12 hours a week and is paid at local government scale 5 or 6, the higher scale for applicants who have completed clerk induction training.

The Clerk is responsible for managing the day to day business of the Parish Council, providing advice, and implementing the Parish Council’s decisions.

Applicants will need to prepare Parish Council agendas and record minutes, be familiar with book keeping and financial procedures, be computer literate, operate on line banking arrangements and update the website, and correspond with external organisations on behalf of the Parish Council.  

Formal training and plenty of help and advice will be available.
