Hesket Newmarket pond was silted up and it was surrounded by a broken fence, damaged trees and unmanaged undergrowth as shown below.
Thanks to a Cumberland Council Community Fund grant and a generous local resident the parish council was able to transform the Hesket Newmarket pond in to an attractive and functioning water feature free to access for residents and visitors.
