Thank you to everyone involved, young and old, in the Carol Singing around Caldbeck Village on the evening of the 18th December. We were able to form two groups for the village but couldn’t muster a third group to go around the farms or Upton. Maybe next year we’ll have a few more singers and be able to head further afield?
It had been a wet day but we were very fortunate and the skies cleared shortly before we set off. In the end we had a clear dry evening and arrived back at the Chapel ready for a hot drink and mince pie (or two)!
Thank you very much for your generous donations to the two groups of singers. The total was £340 which is a marvellous donation to Hospice at Home.
Thank you too to all the Carol Singers. It was lovely to see so many children in the groups this year. You sang lustily for just over two hours and earned your mince pies!
And thank you to those who baked the delicious mince pies and those who looked after us at the Chapel.
Why not look out for the Carol Singing date in November’s Parish Magazine and come and sing next Christmas? The more the merrier, and the further afield we’ll be able to get!
