Parish Council News
The Parish Council met on the 5th September and amongst the topics they discussed at the meeting were the Transfer of Caldbeck public toilets, Councillor vacancy, Howk footpath and Parish website . Transfer of Caldbeck Public Toilets
The transfer document for the transfer of the Caldbeck toilets to the Parish Council from Allerdale Borough Council was discussed. The Council agreed to the terms within the document and the transfer document was signed by the Council’s nominated representatives.
Councillor vacancy
There is a vacancy on the council following Paul Grahams resignation due to work/time constraints. The Clerk went through the process to fill a vacancy and notices have been posted. The Council would like to thank Paul for the time and energy that he has given to the Council and community.
Howk footpath
Neither the County Council nor National Park currently has resources available to undertake improvement works to the Howk footpath. The Parish Council, landowner and our County Councillor (Mike Johnson) have discussed potential accessibility improvements to the paths to the Howk. The Parish Council will submit an indicative costing for the works shortly for approval and if approved the works will completed by next spring.

It was noted that the events page of the parish website and Paul has agreed to become the point of contact.
